Join us on August 7th at Hoover High in City Heights for our Report to the Community, where students will share research findings and summer reflections, including Alexandra’s experience with fieldwork, deep reflection, and discovery.
As she prepares to begin her senior year, Alexandra reflects on a summer that was nothing short of transformative. From taking a college-prep course to develop her Personal Insight Questions with a UCSD professor, to mentoring younger students in Ocean Discovery’s 10th-grade program, Alejandra has been all-in, committed to her growth and the community around her.
She spent time on the UC San Diego campus, explored college options through Upward Bound at the University of San Diego, took marine biology and creative writing classes, and even snorkeled in Mission Bay, all while strengthening her confidence in her future as a college student and environmental science leader.
“This was the summer with the highest stakes,” she shares. “But it was also one filled with great memories. I was able to enjoy it with my closest friends and the Ocean Discovery community that believes in me.”
Come hear from Alexandra herself at the Report to the Community and see how your support makes these powerful journeys possible.
