Become a Virtual Science Leader
We exclusively reach young people from City Heights, a low-income, urban, and racially diverse community. We do this by providing science opportunities, mentorship, and growth mindset tools so that our students can believe, achieve, and lead in science and science-related fields.
We need volunteers, especially those who are racially diverse and willing to share their journey of becoming science leaders! This role is a great opportunity for leaders from all backgrounds and science fields who want to be involved.
About the Opportunity
- Participate in a 20-minute virtual Q&A, facilitated by Ocean Discover’s Instructors, about your career pathway and journey as a Science Leader. Encourage and answer questions that help students explore science and various career paths.
- Virtually over Zoom for 20 minutes. A Zoom link will be provided after sign-up.
- Option to prepare one visual (e.g., photo or photos) to support your conversation (not required).
- Must be an undergraduate student, graduate student, or professional in science or science-related fields. This includes working for a science company in a non-scientific position.
