Tools for MOD (Carolina, JERI, Shara, Anne)
Emergency Preparedness Reading BLA MOD.
Notable Updates for MODs as they review. This would be good to call out when you post to the portal.
- Use of SPOT devices during trips to/from BLA.
- The addition of a section “Incident Response Team Procedures: BLA Evacuation to the US”. This combines existing evacuation to the US and Serious Medical Illness/Injury procedures with a new Incident Team structure and procedures.
- A contracted EMT will travel with the students and be onsite for the duration of the program.
- MOD Clipboard Checklist provided in the “forms” section of the manual.
- NOTE: contact numbers and travelers insurance information are currently being updated. The most up to date information will be included in the Emergency Response Binder and MOD Clipboard materials provided prior to program travel.

A few notes:
The contents of this reading will be in the Emergency Response Binder and available for your use while in BLA.
Read the first two sections (pages 1-29); these are the same as all BLA Staff reading.
For the remainder of the reading, review and familiarize yourself with the information, resources, and procedures so that you may activate them as needed in an emergency.
